Tethered

An Evening in Two Parts

Performance starts at 9PM, doors at 8:30.

MAP/REVOLVE is thrilled to present a two-part program of performance, sound, and video from some of the area's most interesting innovators.

Derek Dominy + Julie Becton Gillum rehearse "TRILOGY" for the Tethered program at REVOLVE.

Part ONE (20mins) will be Sonic Parlour (theremin) with Julie Becton Gillum (dance) and Denise Carbonell (costume).  The trio will perform the first installment (the others will follow through out the summer) of TRILOGY, a three-part project that conjoins theremin and dance, each interpreting the concept of trapped souls. The conceit is built around the belief that in every culture there are myths or stories of tortured souls trapped in nature - be it in a forest, a swamp, or even a desert mirage.

Part TWO (25mins)
SPEAK: the moving body triggers and manipulates both sound score and visual projections. Performed by Julie Becton Gillum (dance), Richard Brewster (sound), and Geo Sims (visuals).
