REVOLVE NOW is a three-hour evening of sound, performance, and spoken word vignettes. Performers will be stationed throughout the building and its grounds to animate the space and fill the building with some of this region’s most genre-defying artists. In addition, Arone Dyer will premier a new composition made especially for REVOLVE NOW via her DRONECHOIR project.

The Asheville Art Museum and MAP/REVOLVE presents REVOLVE NOW! in conjunction with the Appalachia NOW exhibition on Thursday December 12th from 5pm to 8pm. Organized by REVOLVE program director + Appalachia NOW artist Colby Caldwell.

Perspective Café, the Museum’s rooftop eatery, will offer a custom cocktail inspired by the evening.

We believe that Asheville’s cultural hubs should be sites of community collaboration and dialog. REVOLVE NOW is part of this, bringing together some of the area’s most exciting creative voices to create charged juxtapositions within the Asheville Art Museum’s stunning new spaces. These performers are making work that erases fixed notions of what Appalachia looks and sounds like. A common goal, as I see it, is to put Deliverance in the cultural rearview mirror.
