In conjunction with the AlieNation exhibition, we are thrilled to host artist Priya Ray to discuss her work, perform with her band, and have items for sale. Doors open at 8p with Talk/Performance beginning at 8:30p.

Priya Ray has been a long time member of the DIY community as a musician and artist. In 1999 she fell off a skateboard ramp that was a DIY space for bands. She sustained a T12-L1 spinal cord injury. When faced with the decision of what she wanted to do as person living with a disability she decided she wanted to keep playing music. When asked why she chooses to continue to create what she does with the DIY ethic she tells people “because DIY is about community and when I became disabled I needed to be part of this community more than ever” Today she has started a non-profit called DIYabled (Diyabled.com) to inform people about the civil rights of People Living with Disabilities (PLD).
