About Chris

Chris Pitsiokos (b. 1990) is a saxophonist, composer, and improviser. His music combines the intensity and immediacy of extreme rock forms and noise with the lyricism and forward propulsion of jazz and the abstract detail of contemporary classical composers Iannis Xenakis and Helmut Lachenmann.  Chris has had the opportunity to perform/collaborate with Lydia Lunch, Tyshawn Sorey, Peter Evans, Kevin Shea, Brian Chase, Henry Kaiser, Mick Barr, Marc Edwards, Brandon Seabrook, Paul Lytton, Tim Dahl, Philip White, Guerilla Toss, C. Spencer Yeh, Ikue Mori, Nate Wooley and Weasel Walter.  Chris has performed throughout Europe, Japan, Australia, and the US.  His records can be found on Clean Feed, New Atlantis, One Hand Records, Carrier Records, Ug Explode, and his own imprint, Eleatic Records. Shane Parish

Shane Parish

About Shane:

Shane Parish (b. 1978) is a creative guitarist based in Asheville, North Carolina, USA.  He is the guitarist and composer for the long-running, critically acclaimed avant-rock band Ahleuchatistas.  His solo acoustic work draws on traditional folkloric melody, Spanish Baroque music, country blues fingerpickers Elizabeth Cotten & John Hurt, 20th century composer/philosopher John Cage, and so much more.  His compositions, arrangements, and improvisations are a cross pollination of the guitar's various historical paradigms within a freely associated exploration of Music in its universal flowing totality, minus the arbitrary limiting effects of genre careerism.  The end resulting performance is surrender to an Alpha state-induced channeling of the Feminine where breath guides the spontaneous action-reaction of play, which both entrances and reveals deep emotional vistas.  More info on Shane HERE.
